My father in law looked at it. It’s got a few issues. Injection pump was leaking. I forgot what all else he said. Pto clutch has been pulled back for months since it’s been for sale. They want one bad but he passed.

Rear tires are very worn.  No fluid in rear wheels, so traction won't be too good.  Interior of cab is missing a couple of the fans for heater/air and temp control won't move so don't know if air or heat work.  Did run and drive pretty nice, but yes I agree, price is on the high side.

The pto lever pulled back is the big issue for me on a otherwise decent 6080. Yeah the cab is a mess but a cab kit would fix that. Knowing the AC/heat work would be another issue also. Would take quite a bit of money to fix any of the possible cab issues, plus running a 6000 series with the pto lever back all the time would make me walk away also. A shame, the exterior of the tractor looks pretty decent. Price wouldn’t be to far off if none of those issues were present IMO.

What does it mean that the PTO clutch/lever is pulled back all the time?  I'm not familiar enough with the 6080 to understand this.

Its a PTO disengagement lever. It puts strain or thrust on the crankshaft causing failure. There was a service topic on it where an external crankshaft thrust bearing was added

we have a 6060 with the added front thrust bearing that was installed in the 90's
being that the tractor is at a nursery it has may different operators. These guys never leave that hand clutch disengaged. Unless there mowing with it.

tractor came into the shop in March of 2019 with 11687 hours for a engine rebuild and the crankshaft end play was still with in specs.
engine had a ton of blow-by was the reason for the overhaul.
we purchased this tractor new and this was the first rebuild on it.
tractor is serviced every 100 hours.
used for mowing, pulling wagons and running a field cultivator.

Apparently the thrust bearing kit did its job in your case. Quite surprised you haven’t had to replace the bearing there so someone has definitely been keeping it greased. Good to know they do work long term.

It was both models, they used the same engine, 6080 was just inter cooled. Some got the bearing support and some did not. Our dealer did not let us know there was an issue and dad never received a bulletin from AC which is very disappointing. If the pto disconnect is used properly it shouldn’t be an issue.
