The tractor is 100 miles away and would like to bring parts the next time I go there. I suspect rectifier. What type is used on this tractor? Where is is located?

should be a flat one on the engine shroud, 3 wires all in a row . if still original Kohler. Could be bad connection or wire. Get hold of plug and wiggle, watch gauge while running, have seen corrosion be the problem before.

Had the same problem with my 912. Turned out to be the ignition switch.

I was having this same issue last spring on my 712 Shuttle. I changed the Rectifier and haven't had a problem since.
