The tractor starts very hard also had a new injection pump put on. I was wondering if anyone put a inline fuel pump In. I know the john deere with the same injection pump also have inline fuel pump. Also the tank sit up above the motor too and the allis tank sit by the steps.

Hard starting doesn't necessarily mean the injection pump is the problem. Could be a blown head gasket (between cylinders), worn pistons and sleeves/low compression, slow starter cranking speed, bad injectors, Bosch injectors installed backwards, etc, etc.

Mine would start well, then die. Inline electric pump made that problem go away(some new seals on some lines and original pump probably would have too) if it doesnt start well first, i would look elsewhere first. Are you sure it is timed right with the redone pump? How does it act with a shot of either?

New pump?? Who rebuilt it makes a very big difference. Not all us "rebuilders" are the same. There's some low priced shops out there claiming they rebuild pumps, but usually all they do it lighten your check book. It really is sad.

100 percent true and Ed I hate to brag on you but in my opinion you are the best!! And unlike a lot of them you take pride in your work and your customer support is superb!!

The OP says "the tractor starts very hard and also had a new injection pump put on". What does that mean ?? The tractor started hard and then the pump was overhauled and now it starts just like it did before??? Or it started good before we had the injection pump worked on ???

sorry, thought this said 200 - my bad - getting old - any way this is for 200's 200's had a water separator up behind the engine. They also used a hard rubber line and seals to compress in the filter housings. This filter and line higher than the fuel tank caused many issues on 200's due to air ingestion. This is an area to inspect closely. Also on all of the clip on filter bases that had a roll pin for a locator - these pins need to be pulled out and discarded and the area behind the pin cleaned. The hand primer pump consists of a plunger w/seal and two identical check valves and a spring seating them. Any piece of plunger seal or other object caught between the rubber washer and the metal it seats on - will cause the pump to malfunction and this not charge or purge the pump. The metering valve can stick as we - all causing hard starting..as in addition to the afore mentioned posts.
7045 --- spin the tractor over - does is smoke - grey ? IF so it means low compression, timing off - pump advancing at cranking speed - or other issues posted above - if it does NOT smoke - you have metering valve , worn head in the pump - injectors set too high - or fuel supply issues as in transfer pump or leaks in fuel supply line allowing fuel to drain back in the tank...

Our 7060 had the screw back out on the delivery valve in the pump. Would only start when cold. That was in 1986 and the tractor is a 79. I have heard tell that removing the delivery valve was a trick that farm pullers would use. Our was loose, not sure why but tightened it back down and cured it. Might be worth a look.
