My neighbor has a drop setter but it probably pre dates that one and I'm not sure who made his. All we ever used were mechanical transplanter for tobacco. What crops were they transplanting?
Allis Chalmers still exist in my mind and barns

Maybe twenty years ago we started using it to seed pumpkins and winter squash with it too.
Gramp said he sold another to a Christmas tree farm and they transplanted trees.
