I am a little rusty on my draft animal hitching and harnessing lingo. But I know I have seen more than one simalar device on the wood pole out in front of old wagons and other draft animal pulled equipment.
But back in the beginning of that last century they knew how to make do so who knows what they held up with it by the fire. Or if it was on the wood burned in the last fire they had.
