Never done this but wouldn't a slide hammer  work to pull old pins assuming they still have a head?

I have a slide hammer welded to a vice gripe clamp it on the head slide hammer it plus turn it like to unthread it at same time sometimes have to add heat

  I have a piece of threaded rod that screws in place of the regular screw on my vice grip. I welded a nut to the one end and have a piece of steel, drilled to slide on the threaded rod.
