The simple answer, no.  Lots of good solid ones out there, but you'll need to clean it up good.  Some guys line them and I think that most don't.  As long as it is good and clean and kept full, there isn't any chance for rust to form.
Is this a working tractor or a showpiece?

Thanks for the reply Ted , my tank has some big holes where the hold down strap is its not repairable i hav thought about cutting in half and putting another tank inside it and putting it back together so it still looks as it should ! I don't think i will find another tank down under

Holes in the tank don't make it "not repairable". If  a good used one is not available, the thin weak spot can be cut out and a new piece of steel welded in place, just like guys do with rusted out rear rims.
 Being the penny pincher I am, I fixed a gas tank on an old JD tractor one time, that had a hole big enough for a small cat to crawl thru.Wink
