Hand crack grill shell

   I have a hand crank b and when I start it the crank contacts the edges of the hole in the grill shell. Anyone have an idea that will stop it from damaging it. I've already replaced the radiator support and the grill shell from an electric start tractor and would like to keep this one from getting the same type of damage as the old one
