This is the difference 10 years of setting and some sanding can make.

Looking good Jerry. Those two street 90 breather's on the rear end cover. Have a screen in them, both of mine were pretty well plugged w/ crud. I can't get over how easy it is to do the brakes on that tractor.    Tim

seeing the hood panel in the background, looks like it's for a black chassis tractor, and the front half looks black already. Are you sure this is a maroon? Does it have a dry clutch in the flywheel, or just a torque limiter setup?

It's a 76 maroon belly. As you can see I changed my mind and going with the black. The decals are black belly that were on it. It was painted really well when it was done previously except for the orange. No hardener and it faded really bad. Nothing against the maroon, just figure i will keep it black. Still might put the correct decals on it if available.

I did come across another picture from the Pontiac GOTO. Looks like the one in the rear is 7000. Judging by the engine oil filters.  Tim

Alex, I'm with ya. There had to be an all orange 7000 out there somewhere. May have to paint one that way. Just to find out.

Since you're doing it up in black, which I would too since it's already been painted black, it would definitely look better with the bold black chassis decals. If you put the early decals on, then it will look like it's mismatched, black chassis, with bold decals will look basically original fora late model. You guys talking about an all orange 7000 series (don't think it would look good at all by the way) makes me remember how I always wanted to paint a 190/200 with a black chassis. I spent most of my high school years drawing them and coloring them up like that with colored pencils lol!
