Well, Santa came early again this year.If ya'll remember I posted about finding a sc 20 series mounted disc and a #3 subsoiler in early november.(thanks Bob in).Well a couple if buddies and me made another road trip to southern tennesee this past friday to fetch back this 40 series sc disc. It's all there and not all broken up like some stuff gets over time.Good solid shape overall.Funny thing is that right after getting the 20 series I got on line on ebay and found original manuals for 20 and 40 series discs,so went ahead and got them both, mainly to see the differences between the two.Must have been a sign of what was yet to come. Also got to meet another forum member as well,v8cat359, and talked a/c for a good while.Chip is a real good fella to deal with. Can't wait till the show at Rushville next year to have some fun with this and the 20 series.

Really enjoyed meeting you and your buddies too Dave. I'm glad the disk went to someone who appreciates it. Looking forward to seeing pics of it in action!

Don, we both know that the disk CAN'T work that 45 too hard!!  It'll hardly know it's back there.

Nice bucket find Dave.  When you find something for your bucket list, do you shoot a hole in the bottom of the bucket then?  To let it out? LOL

I also have a small version of the #40 disc. I’m searching for some 1-1/4” bearings for it. Almost all of the AC discs out ther use 1” bearings.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Dave, that's a nice #40 disc.  I'd like to find one too, but I guess I haven't spent as much time and energy as you have.  Congratulations!

I've got a #109 SC disc that I pull behind by WD-45.  I can pull it in 3rd gear in standing corn stalks easily.  The problem is it isn't heavy enough to really cut the stalks much.  Does a better job in soft dirt in the spring.
