Can a 6080 run a White planter blower?

   Looking at putting together a 9 row 20" white bean planter. Would a 6080 have enough hydraulics to run the blower and raise/lower the planter, or would i have to use a PTO pump?

	I would think they would but you will probably need to add a 'power-beyond' valve. You'll need someone smarter than me to help with that.

	I've never been a fan of using the tractors hydraulic system to power something like that for hours on end, especially if I could avoid it. The service life of an engine or hydraulic pump is "X" amount of hours at a certain HP/pressure output. So, pick your poison. Use the tractors hydraulic system, and figure on maybe rebuilding it someday down the road, OR use a PTO pump, utilizing it doing what it was designed for. In this case, you have a choice. Sometimes you don't. To answer the original question, your 6080 is probably 12 GPM at the remotes at full throttle, so 6 GPM at 1200 RPM. What does the planter require ?? 	Yes, but No, don't try. You need a PTO pump. I run a blower on our 185 for replants etc by taking off the the traction booster outlet on the pump and plumbing it into the blower direct with a 2500 psi safety dump. The motor return goes to sump. Works fine just have to keep the rpm up above 1600. So it doesn't take a lot of gpm. The 6080 is an open center system that has 2 sections - one for the power steering with a pressure relief dumping to sump = you don't want to pressure the return from the steering motor. The other goes to the remotes. You can not Tee into this and unless you devise a flow control , well it gets complicated. A power beyond is used to power the 3 pt and attaching here will kill the blower when the lift/remote is actuated. Get the PTO pump. In the past I ordered a generic pump with way too much gpm and it heated the system even using a L2 gleaner for reservoir and cooler so spend the $ and get the OEM pump with reservoir and remember it floats on the pto shaft - do not bolt it to the drawbar.
