I have never been inside the trans or rear housing of these. I havn't even had to split one yet. Just trying understand how the hyd, and pto get power when the clutch is disengaged. Is the trans input shaft and main shaft hollow and a drive shaft runs all the way through the power shift or power direct transmission? Looking in the IT book or parts book doesn't show me much either. I know of a tractor that has low side of power director out that I may try to buy so I can tear one down for the learning experience.
Thanks Leon B MO

burn the IT..get a real book. That through shaft is about 4ft long or so it seems. You need the real manual cause the PD has demensions between it and trans that require shims.Don't be like the clown who worked on mine before I got it...was totally screwed up.None of it is hard. The factory manual tells/shows everything you need to know to rebuild ANYTHING if you can read and follow directions. You may have to come up with ways to do things like lift PD into position LOL. That dude is HEAVY and you're feeding it in a hole with no way to hang on to it.
