Anybody ever used an earth pan behind a farm tractor? Looks like it would work ok, probably slow. I want to square up a few fields and improve some lanes.

There is some videos on youtube with people using usually big tractors and what can be done with them.

We see a lot of the tracked four wheel drive Case IH and huge Deeres here doing this, takes a lot of horsepower plus dead weight to make a pan drag and cut. Be better off behind a tracked machine.

I have used a couple pull pans, they work very well but take a bigger tractor than you would think to be productive. A hundred horse for a 2.5 yard dolly style is good in heavy soil, a bit less if FWA. Very cheap to operate and can do very nice job with a little practice.

I have and use a 2.5 yard Speed Line #600 2-wheels out back and drawbar hitch on front,---and did use it on the Oliver super 99 GM when I had the tractor! Worked good.---Later I tried to use it on a TD- 9 IH dozer,--(too slow)---Then had it on the JD 730 and worked REAL good on it. As stated, HP, more IS better on any earthmoving equipment.
Its not really slow for general work.---if diggin a lake,---- ya, way too slow for that.
I would recommend a nice 2.5- 3 yard for the average farm tractor! thanks; ac fleet
