Yes, was a senior in high school. that was the good old days, three days, we walked over the power lines in the yard to get to the barn to milk the cows.

Steve, those lines are telephone lines, I think they ran alongside the railroad tracks.

Dad was a pastor at a rural church near Arena North Dakota. I was born in Bismark in 1964. I dont remember that, but have seen pictures similar!

There was also a book written about this and a couple other storms. Don't remember the name but could probably google it, one author was a local man.

It dumped a lot on us that March also. The police and Firemen (as they were known then) were the only people going to work for a couple of days. They had snowmobiles ferrying them back and forth from home to work. And then we had the highest river stage and floods that spring also. I was a junior and we got out of school to sandbag. NEVER want to see that again.
