Not that I ever heard. Only pin striping I think was back when Allis Chalmers were green.

All RC's had pinstripe wheels that I am aware of. They were a double pinstripe and the stripes were 1/4 inch wide black. At one time I owned RC 8 and the stripes could easily be seen on the original paint. RC wheel rims are unique to the RC as they are 15 inch rims with a WC center.

I have seen it on a B. I was able to find all the history of the tractor from the second owner who's Father bought it new. I also have the original seat from that tractor.

According to Fay and Kraushaar,s book "Original Allis Chalmers 1933 to 1957", B and some C wheels had various stripes. All wheels were orange and some had a single black stripe while others had two black stripes. My '39 B has a single black stripe.

Interesting. I have a '39 B but it's been repainted at some point so if there were stripes they've been painted over.

Also many dealers spiffed up tractors with different pinstripes way back when as something extra to make a sale. Not always a factory done process although it very well could be the the original owner had them form day 1.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Maybe in Canada they didn't have any stripes Myron, but my 48' B had what was left of a double stripe on each front wheel. Faintly, but they were there. My RC had what was left of a double stripe on the front wheels also. After the B's resto, I didn't bother putting the stripes back on. Haven't painted the front wheels yet on the RC, just glassbeaded and in primer right now. Probably won't do the stripes on that one either....

Norm Swinford's book on Allis Chalmers, considered to be the Allis bible, makes no mention of pinstripes on any orange tractor.

Would someone mind posting a pic or two of the wheels? Sounds kinda interesting.

It seems like I have seen some Allis wheels with pin-striping on them at some point. No way to know if original or not. Like Lonn, I found no reference to it in the 'Bible'.

I have an unrestored early 1942 model C. It has the striped front wheels as described in Fay & Kraushaar’s book. Mine has two stripes, about 1/8 inch wide, one about a half inch from the outer rim edge, the other about a half inch from the inner edge (not the center). It also had a decal with white lettering on at least one wheel and I think it pertained to either air pressure or bearing grease, but mine is has worn off over time.

My guess is that the stripes were eliminated as a wartime production measure.

I restored a '40B that had two pinstripes on the front rims. I put them back on best I could.

Just my guessing but I think the wheel rims were sourced from vendors and came pre painted ready to mount the tires. If the vendor wanted to put small stripes on them it was proly at their expense and most likely needed AC approval. What do you guys think of this theory?

One of the owners at the old AC dealership I worked at had a C or CA that was decorated in silver pinstripes from one end to the other. I serviced it the 4 years I worked there. Hood, radiator shroud, fuel tank, fenders, and wheels had pinstripes. It was farmer done......... or the dealership owner, Helmer, did it. I don't remember for sure. He, his brothers and his Dad bought the dealership in 1938 I think. Good folks, the ones I knew. But I digress.
