I use an I 6C and have yet to see the (at a minimum) 3G logo in the upper left of the screen. It's always saying LTE -whatever that means Confused. My service is through Verizon currently, but I'm having signal strength issues more and more frequently Ouch. Just what does LTE mean anyhow and should there be an icon for the "G" signal on the phone Shocked ??

Old gal got a new 1 last month She had nothing but trouble with it for the first few weeks. They reprogrammed it several times. Last time seems to have worked. She is thru ATT here. Version is non existant in our part of the state. You might need a reprogram. They couldn't do it locally, had to be done at corporate level.

LTE is actually a step up from 3 G. LTE is “4G”.   Signal strength is a different, like whether you’re covered or not. The G is more about bandwidth and data speed.

In telecommunications, Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for wireless broadband communication for mobile devices and data terminals, based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies. It increases the capacity and speed using a different radio interface together with core network improvements.[1][2] LTE is the upgrade path for carriers with both GSM/UMTS networks and CDMA2000 networks. The different LTE frequencies and bands used in different countries mean that only multi-band phones are able to use LTE in all countries where it is supported.

The standard is developed by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) and is specified in its Release 8 document series, with minor enhancements described in Release 9. LTE is sometimes known as 3.95G and has been marketed both as "4G LTE" and as "Advanced 4G",[citation needed] but it does not meet the technical criteria of a 4G wireless service, as specified in the 3GPP Release 8 and 9 document series for LTE Advanced. The requirements were originally set forth by the ITU-R organisation in the IMT Advanced specification. However, due to marketing pressures and the significant advancements that WiMAXEvolved High Speed Packet Access, and LTE bring to the original 3G technologies, ITU later decided that LTE together with the aforementioned technologies can be called 4G technologies.

Where 5G does NOT play by the rules, the Chinese developers have added tracking systems and other 'Innovations' so the Chinese can legally spy on the user as MUST agree to terms that will include such.  Many if not Most phone users are oblivious to the "Terms" agreements click YES never read and continue on down that one way street.
