does anyone know how many links are supposed to b in the drive chain on this planter? I broke a link planting sweet corn , didn't have another but got it too work but wasn't planting rite only one side seemed to be dropping corn down. nothing was plugged.. just wondering if the chain might have caused any issues.. im not sure of the model number of the planter... thanks for any help

Check for missing or sheared drive pins or set screws that may have loosened or sheared the tip off...

I agree, there was enough pressure to break a chain so breaking a pin or set screw is highly likely.

Not entirely certain what the setup looks like, but as for number of links, you're connecting 2 sprockets together with a chain, right? Number of links in the chain is irrelevant. As long as the chain is the correct pitch, stays together and stays on, the number of teeth on the sprockets is what sets the ratio.

Take off the seed cans and underneath each is a round gear that is driven By a shaft that the chain you broke is on and on that shaft is a gear with a pin you broke that pin off is why your one unit stopped working something must be binding there are grease zerks under there

if you set the planter down while stopped, you might have some dirt jammed up in where the seed come out. always drop the planter while moving.

Also i don't think that planter had a model number. Was refured to has rear mounted drill planter
