Hey Shameless,,,well now,,you being a farmer for so many years,,,you oughta have 3 or 4 "hoses" to tap the big house tank to fill your 20# bottles,,,? If not just call the distributor to make you one and you be golden,,,,, A person can only do so much "social Distancing",,,but there comes a time when one HAS to go to town for supplies and with the appropriate PPE you should be ok. The main thing is to Always be cognizant of your surroundings as far as PEOPLE,,especially anyone that coughs or sneezes,,you gots to move away from them and don't be shy bout doing it,,either!! They have been givin the wife one of those M95 masks every time I take her to Dialysis, and I been saving them. I carry one in shirt pocket for any "what ifs", PLUS I also carry a pair of those blue rubber gloves. I also gots a small bottle of hand Sanitizer in car and use it right after I get back in car,,to use on hands, keys and CC,,,every time,,!! Thing you gotta remember is to Never touch ANY part of your face until you get to where you can wash your hands with soap. Thing is,,you may still get it even with all these precautions,,but your odds are much better if you practice safety. Did ya'll hear bout them AH's over in New Jersey throwin a "Corona Party",,,,,?? Some people should be castrated when they pull this kind of chit,,,,,

Naw Joe, you can't castrate the feminine gender.....we could teach them how to swim with a 50lb rock tied around em though. That way turtles an such get some food too.
Shamers, you of all peoples gotta practice extreme caution if you gotta go anywhere. I don't know how many cases you have around you, but here in my city we now have 17 of em and one death. I don't wanna find out if I'm strong enough to outlast this crap. I'm in pretty good health, a 'little' over weight, but otherwise pretty good and I just don't want to find out. You stay safe and well my friend. See you BOTH at Hutch in 2021...??? It's the GOTO that year also!! I haven't asked him yet, but I'll bet real money that JC will make it again. I'll bring snacks again for the meeting! |

Don't you have any rubber gloves Shamer, that's what the wife and I do when we need groceries. I have a box of disposable rubber gloves that I use for staining. We went to the grocery store 2 weeks ago and will need to go tomorrow

I been thinking about wearing safety goggles and/or a full face shield I have for use when grinding. The face masks I have aren't very sturdy, but will do better than nothing. I guess when you get home you are supposed to strip in the garage and immediately take a shower. I don't know how the clothes are supposed to get in the washer! If any of you guys have coveralls that might be the way to go!

Joe...I ain't had a propane tank for the house for over 45 years. we have always heated with wood or corn, I may take the propane tanks outta the fifthwheel camper, they are larger than the 20 pounders I use on my flat top grill. since I won't be heating the outdoor kitchen anymore for awhile, the propane will last a lot longer. also helps that after filling the propane tanks where I have them filled, every 5 fills, the sixth one is free.

All you oldies should remember,"let your fingers do the walking". Or was that only the local phone company promoting the yellow pages. Any way call your propane seller and ask if you pull up and call if they send guy out to your truck and fill your tank up and put it back in the truck. Play the old sick scared card. Or you pull so many shenanigans that EVERYBODY knows O'l Shameless and everybody is looking to cough a virus at you.
But you let that tank sit a day or 2 outside bugs will be dead and back "to cooking with gas", . Or was that one only the left coast natural gas company's TV add too. And to make this political the county seat city is outlawing natural gas anything new has to be electric.

Ray...the place I get my propane filled already does that. I just call them or go inside to the desk, they will unload the tanks, fill them and reload back in your vehicle. good old fashioned business!

Thankfully my job allows me to work from home so I have been here March 11th except for a trip into a hardware store for some plumbing fittings. I have working by phone and computer, but the internet is much slower now with everyone home especially all the school children.

Old shameless must have ahuge fridge for his beer. I've probably got 6 or 7 LP bottles under the shop bench. 1 or 2 on the trailer out back. All old style valves for my cutting torch. I thought would still have 1 of the dozers sticking around after I retired. Back got so bad I had to get rid of them. Probably last me all my life.

I have several tanks too with the old style hook ups, even when I tell them they are for my torch, some will refill them, some won't. i'm sure they are doing what their boss told them to do, and I don't think they have any idea between the different valves other than what they look like at a glance.

Well,,back when before I had a hose to fill from the big house tank,,,,The Mgr at the station told me to paint the tank WHITE then,,"stencil" FOR SHOP USE ONLY" on the bottle and they would fill it ,,,no problem. Never had a problem after that.,,,, Notice I said STENCIL ,,,not hand scrawled,,,,,,

Shameless, how's the outdoor kitchen today? Sure you don't need any heat?
Wed 70s, Thur noon 60, Thur night 25. Bbrrrr, was just thinking about short sleeves, maybe next week. No one around here will fill old style LP bottles. Had a place think they were keeping 2, they was wrong. Restaurants, Bars, Casinos all closed. Went past the 4 big box stores yesterday, lots nearly full at all of them. So they must be cleaner, safer places, yeah right. |

Yes sir that is the kind of FRUITS and NUTS we our overwhelmed with. Many people talk of salt destroying cars and trucks, seem to do the same to brain cells if you live close to the salt filled ocean fog. They have ranted and raved for 50 years about the nuke plant that finally started producing power 40 (+-) years ago. Now in the process of closing by 2025. I guess they will only use electric on sunny days when their solar works. Hopefully the conniving Indians over in Arizona keep digging coal and making electric to sell.

Went on tour of our coal fired electric plant a couple of years ago and all that was coming out of it was steam, so I don't know what all the fuss is about

KJCHRIS, we've got 19 cases here in La Crosse, WI and all but one of them, they report, that the all got the virus from a big box store. No groceries or anywhere else, just box stores. I don't care HOW BAD I need it, I ain't goin to no box stores... I'm gonna use that one Ray "salt destroying cars and trucks, seem to do the same to brain cells if you live close to the salt filled ocean fog." My SIL's Mother lives out there somewheres and she's a TOTAL left wing radical nazi commie nut case... I get to tell her it's the salt that's makin her the way she is.....She DON'T like me now....breaks my heart, I'm such a lovable guy.... You ALL know THAT... With that humble statement,,,,,,,,to quote a lovable guy on here,,,,,,,,"I'm outta here now!!" |

Son is working, for he works for a company, nationwide co., that rents equipment for safety as needed. As for the tp we are fine, " does a bear in the woods? ", food, fine, ammo, fine, if needed for food, fine, deer in the yard daily, fine, we have chickens, eggs fine, lots of squirrels if needed, fine, turkeys in the yard daily, fine. I am thinkin that we might be able to make it! LOL what about them yuppies??

Heard on the news this evening that, starting tomorrow, Wal-Mart will limit occupancy in their stores to 1 customer per 1000 square feet of store space. Since we have a "Miniature" Super Wal-Mart there will be a lot of folks standing outside waiting to get inside. I'm OK with that. Had to go to Wal-Mart today to pick up meds and there were too darn many people in the store. Wore my mask. Hate to touch anything in the store. Wal-Mart had already asked customers to stop bringing their families inside the store. "One cart - one customer" rule. But some people have no sense.
