I just paid $2.53 this afternoon at a local Walmart. Costco would have "probably" been at least 15 cents cheaper, but I can no longer get gas there because of their "environmentally friendly" nozzles that encompass the fill neck .

price seems to vary across the states... Higher on west coast, then east coast, with best prices in the midwest to the south.

Steve the blue states like Ks, OK, Tx La, Ms, and Mo that is where a lot oil is pumped and they have many oil refineries. It should be cheaper where it is produced. Cal and NY have higher taxes than most Midwest and central Plaines states. And Ks is republican state. Took a trip to East Central Missouri this weekend and diesel fuel was $2.85 /gal that is definitely cheaper than Ks fuel.

No alcohol unleaded and blended diesel still at $2.96 to $2.99/gal in NW Iowa today.
Steve, saw that map on the news @ 10pm. They seem to be a bit off on prices. News said local gas prices are 35 - 38 cents per gallon higher than mid February.

Cheapest gas in Great Bend. Ruff neck town. Home of senator Robert Marshal.
While the gas price is up 40cents the good news is the price of methane gas has remained the same. It’s provided for free from these guys. Best smell in the world, reminds me of home. |

Actually there’s a hog operation northeast of me that runs a reclaimer then burns meth for heat. However the geniuses at the EPA haven’t figured out how to reclaim meth from 100,000 head standing across a section of land. |

Yep Lou road tax makes a big difference but it is ok if you have good roads problem is when it doesn’t go to roads. Here its 45cents/gal but we do have good roads even out in the sticks. OK is way less tax but when you cross the state line you’ll think you entered a tuff truck competition. Even MO is less but the last time I was in KC you didn’t need a sign to know what state you were in. However MO is way better than OK.

I paid 2.599 for regular yesterday SE MI. I visited KC MO quite often while I was working. Their midgrade was always cheaper, it had 10% ethanol. It always seemed to work fine in whatever I was driving.
