Finally started the work on my grandfathers D15 diesel series I. She looks like a boat anchor now.

Removed the 20 year old diesel from the tank....wow that was disgusting. Found three mice nests one in the bolster, one in the radiator and one in the battery box. The black stuff in the tub is the diesel fuel.

Any tips on removing the stuck injectors? Let the fun begin!

Oh the engine is stuck, was free and running when she was parked, but that was some time ago.

Learned something new I always thought the motor was like a D19 only with 4 cylinders with the water pump on the block not the head. Not like the older Buda motors.

I never worked on an older buda, but I have 3 series I D15 diesels so I have a bunch of great reference material. Grandpas tractor is completely original minus some brackets on the axle housings.

The injectors should come straight out, a tire-mans "J-bar" (its used to separate the lock rings on multi piece rims) is about the right shape to get behind them if they need a little help.

Jollymon68,
I will be watching! Not that I have any diesels. But your tractor looks like it was setting next to my friend Matt's D14!
I have never seen a air box rusted out like that.

I will keep everyone updated. The air cleaner rusted out because grandpa lost the top to it and let it fill with water. Here is a picture of one of my restored D15's

I'll be following, too. I might get a few tips on the restoration of my D14, that I got 3 months ago.

I'll start on it, in the spring.

Jollymon68,
Must comment on your beautiful D15 D! Almost make you want to run out and buy one of those! I think if that were still made they would sell!
I can see you have the skills to get this next family tractor in like new condition too!
 Thanks for the pictures!

 Chris
