Who knows?  There is no way to match the engine serial number with the tractor serial number.

Chassis s/n started at 1001. I think the gas engines also started at 1001. So, your chassis should be D15-2224 or larger because there was surely a diesel or two built, wouldn't you think??  But then, there is the possibility that they made some stationary engines (water pumps, merry-go-rounds, etc) which would increase the gas engine s/n's. What is your chassis s/n ???

Tractor serial number is D 15 2595 . Which makes it a 1961 year model I think . Thanks

So, I'd say they built 371 diesel tractors in that time frame or 371 stationary gas engines. Can't prove it, but I'd say it's the original engine for the chassis.
