my 160 lost all operations after changing hydraulic fluid. upon checking I found that the long pickup tube comming from sump to line going to pump has come loose and fell away from block. My question , when I removed the tube it has a plumming check valve on the bottom. In my manual it shows nor says anything about a check valve there , no mention. is this an old farmer fix for bucket not leaking down.

If it is on the pick up side of the hydraulic pump, it is there to keep oil i n the pump so it is primed whenever you start the it. If it isn't there, the pump can drain out and lose prime. |
