2012 F250 XLT  The remote door lock button on the fob seldom locks or unlocks the doors.  both fobs work the same.  Maybe after pressing the button 10 times the locks will unlock.  Both fobs have new batteries installed.

Any tricks of the trade out there?  thanks

do other funcions of the key fob work ??
I'd take the fob apart, remove the buttons, clean the PCB and btm of the buttons. ANY dirt, lint, gorf that gets in can 'cover' the switch contacts, giving iffy use....

good ideas jay.  They were spanking clean in there when I changed the batts.

Anyhow, thanks.  in the mean time I asked google and he/she said to reprogram the fob.  So I went out there and did the tap dance instructions and - - "slap the dog and spit in the fire" -- they work.  Confused

Well Paul, if my heater was not in the console most of the time, I think I just may leave the keys in the ignition.  Wink

Dave, glad you got them working. At the dealership we ordered quite a few new ones. Be prepared to order a couple. We got them on line but I dont remember where.

How do you reprogram them?

How to Program a Ford Key Fob
  1. Enter your Ford vehicle and close the door.
  2. Slide the ignition key attached to the Ford key fob into the ignition.
  3. Turn the key on and off eight times (do not start the car), leaving the key in the "On" position after the eighth turn. ...
  4. Press one of the key fob buttons within 20 seconds to program the key fob.
oh yeah worked great.  Bout two hours later, sos.  Confused
