I need a new gear box for a old Brillion RSS72 72" rotary chopper.  Who makes a good quality replacement?  Probably needs to be around 40-50hp gear box.  Used with an Allis WD45.  Thank you, Jim.

I don't know the bolt pattern on that model. Depending on how much modification you are comfortable with, you could have a lot of choices. If you get lucky and have a modern four or six bolt pattern, you could be up and running pretty quickly. Omnigear makes gobs of gearboxes for several rotary cutter manufacturers. Going from memory, the RC 161 is about a 70 hp gearbox that I have seen sell for between 175 to 275 depending on whether or not I needed one at the time :-)   try surpluscenter.com.
