I've have never seen this type tool bar before. Anyone know about it? Is it a 333 without the 3rd bar?https://www.auctiontime.com/listings/farm-equipment/auctions/online/140951899/allis-chalmers-78?gtmlt=1&_ga=2.258694346.137700187.1568134155-684411883.1563721546&_gac=1.217917858.1568254518.EAIaIQobChMInrGvt5rK5AIVAdvACh3jzAn5EAAYASAAEgKz6fD_BwE

The add says it is a model 78 I do not know everything there is to know about A/C but it looks like an air planter . A model 333 was a single unit planter driven by a chain from ground driven press wheel. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. This is how I remember our 333 no till planter from years gone by.

I'd say it's a early"300" series planter frame, with number "78" row units. They are air type with individual ground drive from packer wheels. The square tongue is on newer style frame than the Model 600 6x30" no-till I had with "78" units 25-35 years ago. I had a model 500 4x38" with "74" units before that.

I forgot about the model 300. Thought they were mounted only and not a pull type. They had the two bar frame. 600's and 333's had a lot longer tounge like on 385s. Its a nice and neat looking planter. |
