Be careful out here guys. We went to Des Moines to set up for the flea mkt. It is almost bumper to bumper traffic both east and west bound on 80 today. In all the years of driving on it I have never seen it this bad.

See ya' got your "old name" back!

My sister is in that garbage apparently.  Got a text from her a few hours ago that she was stuck in traffic south of Chicago, so it must go on for miles.  Wonder what gives?  Chicago traffic usually sucks, but not that bad at 11:30.

I'll tell ya'll something, after having passed through Chitown three times in my life, on my from WPa to points west and north west, or visaversa I vowed I will NEVER, EVER, go anyway near that town again! I don't care if I have to go to Texas to get to Wisconsin, or beyond! It cost me more to cross that city than it did the whole state of Ohio, and almost as long, timewise.
I am still confident of this;

Since I live close, I like to utilize I-80 when possible. Seems to be very busy ALL the time anymore. Even at 'off' hours, definitely worse at drive time. The amount of idiot drivers seem to increase every year, stupid phones aren't helping!

Do  you think over population may be a factor? Do we really need more immigration?
Image result for how many immigrants came to the us in 2018
Immigrants and their U.S.-born children now number approximately 89.4 million people, or 28 percent of the overall U.S. population, according to the 2018 Current Population Survey (CPS). Pew Research Center projects that the immigrant-origin share will rise to about 36 percent by 2065.Mar 14, 2019

I 80 should be 4 lanes from east to west coast. Used to take I80 through Iowa to I35 up to Hutch but that I80 in Iowa is just too busy . Go up though Wisconsin and cut over on   90 now . Not much farther but much less traffic.
We take I80 to Utah every year to go bowhunting for elk . Lots of semis on that road and seems to be more congested each year . Wish engineers would have had more foresight and planned for wider roads . Wouldn't of had to of built them wider then but have the land rights so when they need widened it would not take as much.
You only need to know 3 things to be a plumber;Crap rolls down hill,Hot is on the left and Don't bite your fingernails

Not necessarily over population, n general, but perhaps overpopulation of those not paying their own way

The Chicago traffic makes sense Nascar was at Joliet at Chicagoland speedway  It is south of Joliet and the two main roads in are a two lane and a 4 lane with multiple stoplights.
