Very interesting Dave. I agree, Fiat really dropped the ball when they discontinued the Allis Chalmers engineered crawlers.

seen a Noram 65 grader in morrinsville NZ about 2 months ago Mac. Very tidy looking machine. No idea who it would have been bought through. Still the odd FA65 in NZ as well. Billy Higgs has one.

Still like the median sized machines AC put out, Cat tried a few smaller versions, Komatsu also but were in no way as popular or as long lived.

I've seen the Noram graders at trade shows. They had a history board that clearly dates their origins back to the early 1950's Allis-Chalmers D grader.
