Received my cab kit for my 7040 and I ordered dynamat for under the floor mat and under the roof but I have enough to do the cab sides inside but was wondering if the adhesive would stick to the foil backing of the dynamat?

I’ve never tried that. Let us know how that works
I used all the adhesive supplied in the kit for mine and some of the panels are coming loose already. May need to put it on heavy and get extra to finish your install Edited by plummerscarin - 16 May 2022 at 2:47pm |

It sticks to metal cab surfaces so it should do fine. I got a kit from Feur cabs and I believe their adhesive would stick to grease.

I called Fehr and they don’t recommend doing it. The person I talked to was familiar with dynamat and said under the floor mat was fine but they didn’t think the foam would stick to the foil on the dynamat. I wanted to see if anybody else had tried it, not sure if I want to now. I don’t mind paying for the cab kit but I won’t be able to stand it if it starts coming loose.

I did some in our stiegers this year before the we put on the side foam, its only been a couple of months tho. I buy one inch cab foam by the 20 meter roll and use contact adhesive. I also get a cartidge of flexiseal fc,which is like a black flexible rubber/silicone and squirt that around the edges of the foam,it keeps the edges stuck down.

I’ve heard of people doing dynamat+foam but I also wonder if the two will stick together well. As was stated above, the adhesive for both sticks to bare steel in the cab, so why wouldn’t it stick to the foil? Guess we won’t know till we try.
