    Posted: 09 Jan 2020 at 9:32pm

I have an order coming from the Nelson Muffler Co. for the oval mufflers for D17 gas tractors ser# 42000+, A-C part number 246129. These are made by Nelson Muffler Co off their original design from the 60's. They have the offset outlet, and I would see no reason why they wouldn't have the "nelson sound". According to the company, they will have "NELSON" stamped into the body.
These are $157 each + shipping. I am requesting half the payment now ($78.50) to corfirm your order. The other $78.50 + shipping will be paid when the mufflers are delivered to my shop. Nelson Co estimates Feb 5th for the delivery date. Call 920-598-1287

For the early D17 round mufflers used on the WD45 and D17 up to ser #32001, I have those available for $135+ shipping.

I might drive down to the Missouri swap meet this spring if I'm not swamped with tractor repairs. I might also go to Hutchinson this year but I am usually busy all through the summer. So at this time my answer is no.

I have connections in Stevens Point, WI and Milwaukee, WI so I can send mufflers there to be picked up.

Are you talking about the early ones with the flange bolted to the manifold? A-C part #234493?

Mike- No you don't have to "pre buy" them. I should be getting them in around Feb 5th. You can order them more easily after that as I will know the shipping weight & dim.

I do not currently have any for the D14 but I will be checking into those mufflers as there are a few people inquiring about them.

The D17 mufflers arrived today!!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who preordered these mufflers and do not hear from me by the end of tomorrow, please call or contact the muffler man @920-598-1287. A few times I forgot to write down a phone number. I have plenty of mufflers available yet. Here are some pictures of the mufflers:

They look good Alex!  Have you got a 17 to test one out and let us know how it sounds? LOL
Good to see you yesterday!  Next time, we'll have time to have something to eat and I know a couple of guys that would like to come along.

Yeah great to see you again Ted! I'm sure i'll be seeing you again as the muffler plant is almost in your backyard!! I was thinking about requesting a tour of the factory next time i pick up an order. Man you would not believe the tooling & dies they have there! I stepped inside the door when the guy was grabbing the pallets with the forklift and every available space not occupied by production machinery has pallet racking with specialized tooling/dies stored on the shelves! I'm glad to see that as I hope they will have the other A-C muffler tooling for mufflers that we want.
