    Posted: 16 Sep 2018 at 3:23pm
Hi All,
I've got a CA that was a pin hitch and I bought a Snap Coupler setup for it.  My problem is the right side according to the AGCO Books, #10 - 70226680  BRACKET ASY., regulating spring sticks out too far. It won't allow the 70232755 BRACKET ASY. R.H. to go in far enough to get the bolt hole to line up.  It's about a half inch too short.  Anybody have this problem before?
The bracket I am talking about is the #11 70232755 BRACKET ASY. R.H. on the AGCO books.

The bracket won't allow the drawbar hanger to go on, it is too wide.

I believe it,Snap coupler equipment for a CA is hard to find. I've seen Several CAs switched from snap coupler to pin hitch. With the pin hitch you get to keep the hitch when you put the belly mower on. Best of luck the parts manual dosent show A snap coupler. When I got my CA it had no drawbar I installed a C drawbar till I found a pin hitch one. It's a great mowing tractor but intirely to small for anything else.

Ted, I have not done the swap. Can you post a pic or screen shot of what you are running into. I think it can be done for sure. HTH Tracy

You can see the hole where the bolt is supposed to go.
The blue line shows where some of the material will have to come off to move the bracket in far enough to accommodate the bolt.  The front bolt is in but the back bolt won't go... the rear of the tractor is to the left.  I don't know if this helps or not?  It's the only photo that shows anything.

Ted, does the parts manual call for a different part number on that bracket, for the pin hitch versus SC hitch. If so, if yours bolts up parallel to other brackey and correct width, I would make a new ear, cut off old one, and weld new one on. I think I ran into something similar on a D10 swap on same bracket IIRR. HTH Tracy

Tracy, tThe AGCO Parts book shows them as being the same number, but the pics show that they are entirely different.
I'll have to maybe look around and see if I can find the later one.  The snap coupler came out in 54 so the preceding two years were pin hitch.

Unless I'm missing something, I believe a 4 inch angle grinder would make the bracket fit.

UPDATE:

I have to thank Alex09(WI) for the new one.  It fit perfectly!!

There is about 3/8" difference in the width of these two pieces, even though they have the same parts number, 70226680.  I don't know, if a person had a GOOD bandsaw, if they could have cut it off?  I'd be worried about the pin that the right hand bracket assy goes onto would be solid enough?  You'd have to take the pin out of each and measure how far it goes in.

It's a LOT easier to have the correct piece, believe me!
