Are all the 190 xt diesels turbocharged? Why do some have the air intake precleaner coming out the top of the hood and some don't?

They tell me that the ones that stick up are for extreeeeem dusty areas!---mine sticks out the top and it's turbo--series 3 , has landhandler decals slapped on the side. thanks; ac fleet

Precleaners are optional equipment.  Yes, all XT diesels are turbocharged regardless of series.

My XT did not come with the precleaner but I added it when I stripped it and repainted it. The added protection to the engine was important but the neat look it added was a bonus for me.
