I have seen a Deutz air cooled in one. You can see one on You Tube, but its a loud machine. I do have to ask about the 670HI that is in your 7580. Has it gone bad?

I know of one that has the 8.3 Cummins conversion. The owner is very pleased.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

There is a cummins engine, i believe it is a 505? that is an option to swap in, we were told about by our AGCO dealer, dad almost went with one be we decided to reman the AC engine.  personally i think a 516 AC engine would be neat.  i believe Bob @ reliance works was working on a swap like this about a year ago or so when i spoke with him.  Sorry, I think its Bob, its been a long time since i spoke with him and im not at home so i dont have my notes.   Pm me if you wold like a phone # I have the info but im not home.

Just a thought, weren't the 7580s kinda light in the drop boxes, and the finals, and didn't handle the stock HP very well as it was???  250 to 300HP might be asking for many more repair bills down the road?

7580's were rated at 222 eng flywheel HP. That being said, I have seen several transmission failures at that 222 HP rating, so it would be a very dumb thing (in my opinion) to transplant an engine that has even more HP and torque into a chassis that  I know is already prone to failure at 222 HP. Do what you want.... it's your money.

My neighbors have one with an 8.3 cummins in it. That combined with the Arkansas driveshaft kit made a tractor out of it. They pull a 5 shank M&W earthmaster with it and have used it on a good sized JD soil finisher in the spring and seem to get along with it fine. That said, you can either keep spending money on the 3750 with weak rods and rod bolts, or you can rebuild a drop box from time to time. You pays your money and you makes your choices. I think I would put my money toward a Case-IH 9130 or something like it. I had a 9130 that was turned up to the range you want, and it was one heck of a tractor. I know how much trouble I will get into for suggesting that, but the 7580 just wasn't made for all day-all out hard pulls. We row cropped with one on a 12 row buffalo ridge till cultivator and burned holes in pistons with that. You would have better luck and less money tied up in a good used 4W305. Most, if not all of them had PTO and 3 pt. so it would make a great grain cart tractor I would think, and would be built for hard primary tillage.
EDIT-after thinking about this awhile, I think I came across a little too gruff on my reply. The 7580 would fit a lot of situations, I just don't think you would be happy pushing the old girl that hard. It was designed to pull the same implements as 160-180 horsepower tractors, but not have the traction limitations. Problem was, it looked a lot like the big Steigers and Versatiles of the day. I think the IH 2+2 guys had to learn the limitations in a similar manner.

If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!
