I had my alternator rebuilt and now the lights will not stay on when the tractor is running. The lights work fine when the tractor is off. When I turn them on with it running they will come on for a few seconds then go off, they will not come on again unless I disconnect the battery. Something must reset with time, it takes a while for them to work again. I have checked and rechecked the wiring looks to be correct??? I replaced the light switch last year and the lights worked fine but the alternator was shot at that time. Someone had hacked the wiring before I bought it but I have painstakingly rewired it. It is wired according to the diagram of a 170D only thing I could find!! Could it be the key switch? Any suggestions would be welcome.
