My great great grandfather John Robert Borders was a mule trader of some reknown. He would travel to Texas once a year and return with several cars of mules just before planting season. He did this for years but in the 1930's became the Allis Chalmers and Mack truck dealer in Carrollton, Ga., about 50 miles west of Atlanta. His son and grandson took it over after WWII and sold it I think in the late 50's. Interestingly enough, his granddaughter, my mom, married a diehard International Harvester man, my dad. My cousins still have totally restored Allis Chalmers tractor.
