I made my first post back in the spring about my 1978 allis 7000. The opion was I had a differential problem. I'm finally ready to tackle it. Question, do I have to split it to get the differential out? Thanks for any help.

No split. Start by jacking/blocking up under the drawbar bail area so both rear wheels are off the ground. Remove both rear wheels and set aside. Until that is done, you really cannot do anything else. Lift arm housing comes off. Axles get pulled out 6 inches and bull gears drop down. Rear end cover gets removed. Brake assemblies get removed. Bull pinion shafts/gears get pulled. Bull gears then can be lifted out to access a couple differential bolts. Diff carriers get removed both sides. Diff rolls out the back hole.

I've only done one like this. 7000's were pretty good.
