Is there any problem with using just antifreeze mixed 50/50?
If not a problem, how much do you put in?

Wanting it for a WD. Thinking about putting it in the front tires also.
I have an old backhoe 6' bucket I put a 3-point attachment on.
There is about #200 hanging on the front now but it's not enough when I load the bucket with rocks or green hedge.

I also haul a 250 gal water tank on bale forks. I can get 225 gals in it and get it 6" off the ground and the front tires about the same distance. Use it for watering hogs. Sucks to manuver. That's why I'm asking.

The reason for the rear tire fluid is because I am going to try to scrounge up a FEL for it.

I put -20 windshield washer fluid in the front tires on my D17.  That's lots cheaper than mixing engine anti-freeze with water 50/50 if you don't go the traditional calcium chloride route.  Here's a table you can use on approximate gallons for various tire sizes.  Mike

One problem is that if it leaks out and your pets(cats/dogs) start licking it, they can die.
Calcium is bad for rotting out rims(my D-14 #2 needs one,sigh..)
Fill with valve at 10 or 2 oclock position.

You could try Rim Guard. Supposed to be non-toxic and won't rot out rims.

I was pondering washer fluid. It would be cheaper.

You are right about the toxic part of antifreeze, but there is supposed to be a bittering agent in it now. But then again, dogs think cat turds are tootsie rolls so it may not affect there taste buds.
I have one dog that will eat anything that won't eat her first so.........!

I have always thought our best defense would be to load up an ICBM with used cat litter
and drop a few on the 'unlikeables'. The wars would be over.

Thanks for the chart and the input.
Gives me a good idea where to start.
