Hey Bob
Thanks for posting the pictures of loading the dozer and all your parts. I'll have to learn how to do it myself one day and show everyone the finished projects. Just hope the Australian Customs contractors put in as much care unloading as we did loading! If anyone needs undercarriage gear for HD5/6's, 9/11's, 15/16's & 19/20/21's give Bob a call, there's a fair chance he can help you. Bob has lot's of other parts for HD5/6's & 9/11's so if you need anything else for these models Bob's the man and a real gentleman to deal with.

12 months ago MervHD6 ran a post trying to track down the last HD6 built serial No 25271, as yet we've had no response, we don't know what country it's in or if it is an E, EP, B or a G. It will be badged as a Fiat Allis like the last 260 built. Would be neat to track it down.....Merv has pictures of a HD6B s/n 25242 in NZ -- she still looks good!

Cheers

looking good warren and Bob.
obviously a late one with offset tank; love to know if the 7000 motor was factory or later fitment; same with the W5A winch. But has to be a great combination Plenty of track gear there too; you might need to start pushin a causeway between us warren to wear out all your HD6s ! I can start on the kiwi side am working out west coast of north island now ! Might have to start saving some money for a visit to oz just to see these treasures !
cheers boys, take care

Hey Merv
You'd be most welcome to come over for a visit, to save you an air ticket I might have to fit some new cutting edges and get started on that causeway across the ditch!!

I'll have to check that engine number out on that 7000 motor when I get it all home to see if it matches the number on the ID plate. I know 7000's were factory fitted in HD6AG tractors with direct drive, I've never heard that they were factory fitted to HD6B's, E's or EP's but have no doubt the EP drive line is up to the job being the same as HD7G's that had the 7000 motor standard.

I though all 7000 motors had Roosa Master injector pumps this motor seems to have the same American Bosch pump as on the 6000 motors? Can anyone shed some light on what injector pumps were fitted to 7000 motors?

Cheers

HD7G had the American Bosch. Industrial and marine 7000s from the US military had Roosa

Thanks Mactractor
To satisfy Merv's and my own curiosity when the machine arrives back home I'll have to compare the engine s/n with the engine No on the dash ID plate, to confirm if the motor is factory fitted or a transplant most likely from a HD7G.

Cheers

Still looks Factory to Me, Warren. I agree, the only other 7000 engines in HD-6's that I have seen were in the HD-6AG Models, but no Brochures back that up either, so I believe it would likely have been a Dealer "Special Factory" ordered option which AC was noted to do. There were many unique applications used in "Cable-laying" and for "Sugar-Cane Harvesting" in Hawaii in particular. Unfortunately, the years that have passed with much Dealer Info being lost makes much of this more difficult to confirm!   Hope all is going well up in the Northernwestern US area! Have a safe Trip Home!   Cheers, Bob and "Gang"!

G'day Steve
I've just got to learn how to post pictures and I'll get some up real soon.
I've followed your posts with keen interest over recent years and really like the look of your collection of 11's, especially your HD11 series B's. I've wanted to touch base with you for some time as you're not that far from my neck of the woods, we're at Wooragee just out of Beechworth in NE Victoria about 300kms out of Melbourne and from your pic's that you've posted I've guessed you're just NE of Melbourne about 2 hrs drive away. If you get up our way call in for a look.
I guess your talking about Gary from Allis Spares and Repairs for parts in Vic? I've brought parts off him and off Phil Hunt up in Tamworth over the years, they're both pretty good for parts for dry back end HD6B's but for later model "wet back end" HD6E's and EP's which were always fairly scare in Australia parts can be a little hard to come by. To help solve this problem I've brought four HD6EP's in from the states over the last few years plus a HD6E (wet brake) in from NZ. Thought I should stock up now before they all end up in China as scrap!!
Two of the HD6EP's I brought in from the USA are late 1973 models s/n 24867 & 24725 made just before the Fiat merger, both are fitted with AC factory ROPS. You can see pictures of the factory ROPS in the AC parts manuals, plus there are pictures of the same style of ROPS on HD11's & 16's series B's in Norm Swinfords book. They probably make a good ROPS and they don't rattle like many of the crappy home made canopies i've seen but for sun and scrub protection they're fairly useless. I've made decent canopies for three of my HD6's that are very similar to what you've got on your tidy 11 -- they do a much better job of keeping sun, rain and sticks off the back of your head!!
Looking forward to meeting you one day soon and hope the bush fires stay away this summer!
Cheers

Hi all

I called past my friend 40M 25242 this week, just to make sure she's still there - she is.

I'll have to increase my efforts to get my hands on her.

I'm going to add to this one, I just lost an Old Friend this past month. Warner 's Father was a Field Service man for a Monarch and then later Allis Chalmers Dealership back in the Midwest after WW1. He was a Navy Sea Bee Dozer Operator in the Invasions of the Marshall Islands in WW2 and witnessed the Flag raising at Iwo Jima on Mt Surbachi (sp?). After the War He worked for International at their Proving Grounds with the TD-24 Field Tests. He left quite a collection of tractors, (mostly CAT), but like most of Us , loved them all! I will miss the many great and interesting stories!

Hey Bob

Sorry to hear of the loss of your old friend. No doubt he would have got to drive machinery that was possibly air dropped onto remote Pacific islands. In Norm Swinfords book there are pictures of I think old HD7's getting set up on crates of wooden pallets made specially to cushion the impact of getting dropped on the ground!! Then if the dozer survived the fall it had the separately dropped blade fitted up and put to work levelling airstrips that were covered in Marsden matting to carry heavy aircraft. These days in the Pacific Islands you still see lots of the old Marsden matting segments used for fencing etc.

I still don't know how to post pictures so will have to wait until Matt is free so post a pic of that big rock I've been digging around.

Will be going ahead and building a 100ML dam next March so I'm on the hunt for an AC44 or Cat 40 scraper to hook up behind one of my HD6's. I rang the guy who had the Cat 40 up in Colorado but he seems to have moved on.

Cheers

Warren
