There was a very interesting tractor at the Madison auction today, Ive seen one in the Tractor Shop magazine ; it was an Oliver , White, Minnie Moline; it had a White grille, hood had Oliver aluminum nameplates, the tractor was green, and it had a huge MM motor; didnt see a model number but it was big ; I guess White bought em and used up the old parts ; pretty neat !

I remember being at the Illinios state fair looking at a new White tractor with Oliver sheet metal, painted red and it had a Minnie Mo engine. The clutch and brake pedals and the steps had the red paint worn off and the green was showing through. I remember Dad talking to Oliver and Minnie guys that day who were all really unhappy. Kinda sounds familiar now that I think about it. LOL

I was to the Minnesota state fair when I seen those red molines and green molines white hubs and planetaries. Then they had white/minneapolis molines yellow with oliver engines in them. was just like they were using up parts as in mix and match combinations and the next year it was the charcoal grey whites that came out. Real sad day when I seen that.

sounds like a G1355, or 2155. those used the MM 585 diesel engine. It was basically an Oliver from the clutch back, over/under 3 speed, outboard planetaries, closed center hydraulics, 6 speed trans. it is what became the White 2-150. Great old tractors, but really need a turbo to be even better. Not the most rugged engine by any stretch, but was MM's only direct injected. with a turbo, and juiced up slightly, they would run 200hp, and live pretty well, just keep the rpm's down. Very heavy rotating assembly.

MASSIVE rotating assy!!!Didn't they only have 4 mains?I think there were 4 bolts per cap.

4 bolts on the rod caps, but I can't remember if the mains have 4 bolts. And yes, only 4 main caps on a 585 cid direct injected diesel!

Those are neat tractors. We have one that is painted red but is labeled as a WHITE 1870. It uses the MM Engine and Oliver Trans/Rear End.

the 1870 is a G955 MM. which is an Oliver 17/18/1955 rear-end with a 451 MM engine. they did also offer an Oliver 1755/1855 sold as MM G850, and G940, may be was 1855/1955, but either way they went back and forth. The red ones (White) were supposed to be Cockshutt canadian versions. Although I dont think they did an MM version of the 2255, they did offer red ones. The A4T 1400/1600 were also available as an Oliver 2455/2655, and even a few yellow ones were sold. the combines were also the same during this era(late 60's-early 70's). red MM's green Olivers, and even a few yellow ones! kinda like what Agco does now with a "corporate" tractor being tweaked for the different divisions. Funny how they are all under the umbrella of Agco, and how history repeats itself!
