Great forum here guys. I've been lurking around for quite a while and I have really learn quite a bit. I posted about this tractor on the old forum but only finally made the move to get it.

I'm in the process of acquiring this little CA. It was my uncle's. He passed away last December and I am buying it from my aunt. He farmed with it for many years and was still using it for chores around the farm until fairly recently. It i still hooked up to his sickle bar mower that he used to mow up and down his driveway. Not sure what all it will need but it looks like he had started to do a tune up on it and never got around to finishing it.
Plenty of character.

And yeah that is a un-styled WC gas tank he propped the front end up with to take the weight off of a a low tire. I've since propped it up with something less rare.

So what is the serial number? I have #669 that my Dad bought new in 1951. Scrub the engine up, do a tune up and you'll be good to go for another 50 years. I couldn't figure what was hanging from the throttle shaft, but after blowing the picture up I can see they are spare sickle guards.

Yes you do. Also in the shop is a roto-baler that was serviced and stored ready for the next baling season that never came, 30 years ago. in the pic you can also see a '37 WC, The engine is free but it hasn't been run in probably 30 years. Not showing is the '48 WD that he was still using at least 2 years ago that I'm sure of. The starter was off of it and he had been hand cranking it when he need to use it.

An interesting detail of the WC, He had put a Model A transmission in the steering shaft to give him "Power Steering". The stories go that it was THE big joke to reach up and put it in reverse.

You got to love all of the ways that the ole time farmers fixed things.  I like the sections of tire tubing to keep water from getting down in the tranny.  I'm not be sarcastic either.  If it were me, I would try to get all of them and clean them up and leave them as is.  Anyone can restore a tractor back to better then new, but some of those old repairs give these tractors a true sense of charactrer.

That would be a great collection to bring back to life. Thought I spotted a rotobaler in the 2nd picture. The 'power steering' unit is a fun idea! Hope you can give them all a home, Larry. Have fun with the CA - you'll find plenty of help on here if you need it.

Thanks f0r the replies guys. Once it dries out enough get the trailer back to the shop lot I'll bring this thing home and start bringing her back to life. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions when I get started working on it.

We will be having a sale for the rest of the equipment and implements in a couple of months and I will post up with more details about that when it gets scheduled.
