Edwin had a 7G for sale but was lacking an operating engine, I tried to cutthroat the price but instead of bartering he sold it to Zimmerman in Versailles, I missed out on a pretty well usable machine I could have transplanted my engine into, Zimmerman is already taking it apart. My trans is weak with no low reverse while slips in Hi forward, my rails pretty well shot, there are no seals available per Minnpar for the trans anymore, and the guy I thought was buying it has since backed out, I pretty much have a fence row queen now and it most likely will end up going to China.

Guess I just screwed up.

Oh well, maybe another will come along....
By then you might think about what it is really worth to you, and you won't let it get away. Sorry it turned out this way for you, at least you got time to save up a little more cash before you find the right one.

Thought I had offered a reasonable price,I still had to move the hulk to get to where I could work it and that was near a grand by itself. I did call Zimmerman, no interest in selling it whole, rails are probably 70%, will sell me the parts to patch mine up but I can't spend another $5000+ just in pieces to keep mine moving. Willie at Chartrand at Redbud IL has some pieces but again are high dollar and no guarantees, could spend well up to $3000 in additional parts that he has and still be needing rails.

I believe it is just time to throw the towel.

As for now I will offer pieces of mine and as it gets to where it won't move I will cut it up, around $2700 in clean scrap sitting so I can net around $2000 after gas and fuel.

Dozer has a 7G it was for sale at one time.  Maybe he will come along and see this.  NYS to Mo. would be quite a trek though to haul.

Way more than a unit is worth I am afraid.

Mike at Zimmerman called back with a OK to sell the unit whole, I have bought the whole magilla. He will set up to deliver around the middle/end of June. His take is that with an engine this one will be quite a prize, I will see, just spent quite a load for a dead machine but it does have 80% rails/70% pads and a different trans than I am fighting right now.

Glad it worked out for you. Sounds like you might be OK, and you got a nice parts machine, with your current one after the transplant.

Just be patient. It has happened to me many times, however I usually ended up with something better, for less  money,  closer to home, etc. etc.
