have jd 410b backhoe. forward works aok in all gears. reverse does not work in any gears. service manual shows port where to test pressure but does not give normal oper

range. anyone know ? dealer says bring it in. before i rebuild control valve is there a test to verify that this is problem ? how can i manually move spool valve to make sure it

is not linkage ? disengage and move and check ?

took apart mechanical linkage for forward / reverse dash lever. manually put in reverse position. worked aok. readjusted linkage. works fine.
