going through some old pics today with my parents and found these. this is my great grandfathers wc. he then later traded it in on a brand new WD. the little boy in the pic is now about 64 years old now. we found a whole pile of old pics with a-c's in them. he had a farmall F-12 and a sheppard diesel. after he got rid of them all the family has had have been a-c..... wonder what the bracket on the front is for??....Jb  ------------- 8050 FWA, 190XT, 185, Styled wc, Unstyled wc, (2)C, (2)WD45NF, WD45WF, WD,416h, 716h, 312h, 8070 pedal. |

Those are Firestone Ground Grip tires, and they look oversize for that tractor. From the way they fit in the fender, they are probably 13-28's. I've seen some that size right from the factory, may have been all they could get during and right after WWII. Normally they would have a 10-28 from the factory. The bracket on the front may have been the guide for the rope or chain for the mounted corn planter markers. The older markers swung forward instead of up. ------------- Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives. |

| We had a mounted mower like that on our only farm tractor- an RC. What a miserable job to get the holes lined up to the frame to mount it. 'Course, had to take it off after cutting so we could get back in the barn with the tractor to clean the barn as the mower was too high to fit thru the door. Then, had to put it back on again to cut the next field . I was only about 6 or 7 at the time, and couldn't lift very much with the crow bar! 66 now tho, and still remember the problems getting the mower mounted. |
