How do you remove and replace a freeze plug in a AC model C. Is it just a friction fit? Do you need a sealer?. Any tips on how best to do it?

My best suggestion is to go to You-Tube and search for clips on freeze plug replacement.  That's what I did.  I don't think any sealer is needed but I did put a very small amount of RTV on mine before inserting it just to be safe.

unsure of which cups are used be the convex disc or the full cup , the disc fits into a machined bore that had a shoulder it sets against then is hit wit ha ball peen in center to expand it.
The cup is enough oversize it is a press fit into machines bore. In either case a little permatex #2 does not hurt, just don't go overboard.
to remove the cup type a punch is used on one side (inside of cup / not on edge ) to turn the cup and then pull out with a pliers or vice grip . on other type drilling and using a slide hammer works
