I was just thinking back to a few of the jobs i did with the HD5G over the years . One was working for neighbor when he was doing railroad salvage work . He hired me to help on a job in St Paul down at the old Pullman yard in removing track. He had been using a large payloader but had tire problems so I used the HD5 to pull a sled to remove track from ties. It was a skid that went between rail and ties and as it moved forward it lifted the track while keeping ties in the ground , pulling the spikes out of ties and leaving the tie plates and spikes behind. I must have pulled a couple miles of track up, he had couple guys picking up tie plates and spikes and throwing them into roll-off container. He then came behind with payloader with forks and piled ties off to side and also loading rail onto flatbed to haul to steel mill . One section of track we removed let up to a warehouse and as I came up to it a guy comes running out screaming he just bought the building with trackage. Seems someone forgot to tell him tracks were being removed. Oh well let them fight it out as i removed the other section of tracks going by his building.
------------- Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.
