Any body have any sugestions about small gas powered power washers in the 2000# range. Used for general equipment clean up, not commercial. Thanks.

Lot of them around , unsure of who has the best ones out there , might try Sam's Club to see what they have as see a lot of them being bought there .

Pump mfg is one issue that one can get parts for them as they do break .

Good thinking Coke. Getting repair parts could be a prime issue. Might be better to get one that is made here and sold through a reliable retail network.

I bought an Easy Kleen...will buy nothing else ever again, it is the best and they have all the parts for the machine in stock and ship the next day at the latest. I have had a lot of other ones and they were good but when you need pump parts they are very expensive and some pumps are real hard to get the parts for.

One other thing to note, until you have one that produces hot water , you have no idea what you are missing on cleaning ability.

Don't have to worry about repairs on the small ones like that, they are disposable. If you want one that's gonna last a little longer, get a side mount pump, not the bottom mount type. Seen some at Home Depot with a side mount pump, and a subaru engine, $800. I got a cheapie from TSC, and it's been reliable for a couple years now, figured it's paid for itself now!

stuff I know..

Be sure gas one goes into WARM storage for the winter or pump anitfreeze in them ! 2 neighbours found out the hard way that a little bit of water in the pump will split them !

Cheap vertical units are made for about 200 hours....

Water in the gastank will settle into carb and do damage to the float/needle valve/seat...

You should unscrew the pressure hose after every use and lightly oil the 22mm threads...

Clean out the inlet screen and pour vinegar in the inlet to help dissolve the hard water build up

Check the pump oil level, IF it has a filler plug ...

Put a good 'glug' of fuel injector cleaner in every other tank...

Do an engine oil change EVERY fall/winter storage season...

I would also suggest that you go for at least 2500 psi or more.

I bought one at Home Depot about 4 years ago with a Kohler 4 HP motor and have had no problems with it. I will reccomend that you use anti-sieze on the connection between the pump and the hose inlet and teflon tape on the fittings for the hose. As others have said, take hose off after evey use and use Sta-bil in the fuel in the winter. Mine has not failed to fire every time I've went to use it and I've had good luck with it. My sons both borrow it on a regular basis and no problems at all. I think it is a HUSKY brand.

Northern Equipment sells good ones. Get one with a Cat pump if you can.

We just got a Hotsy with a Honda OHV engine and a 3000 psi pump. It was the smallest one you could buy from them that had the actual Hotsy pump. So far it has been great. It was a little expensive, but if you want something that will last, you have to get something you can service easily...
