ConfusedI recently tore apart a 6 cyl diesel 301 and noticed something odd. The three front cam bearings are "splash" lubed thru a hole in the cam bearing . The motor that I am working on Has a hole in the rear brg. but it is not lined up with any passage in the block. As I see it there will be no lube for that bearing unless something is changed. It could just be installed wrong but I cannot see any passage to align the hole up with. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

No feed holes in cam journals.

If A-C thought you needed to know how the rear bearing got oiled, they would have told you....install the new bearing just like the old one.

That is the way they are made. No hole to lube the rear bearing.   MACK

"The cam bearings are lubricated by the oil returning from the rocker arm shaft to the oil pan."
"The cam shaft bearings must be properly positioned in the cylinder block so the oil hole in the bearing lines up with the oil hole in the cylinder block."
