for y'all. My friend has a 185D which runs awesome. After she is warmed up if you have it in let's say second gear with the discbine hooked behind and in softer ground and pull the pd to either low or high, she moves some but will just sit there till advancing the throttle over half way. If you have rpm's half or 2/3 or more there is no slipping. What can I advise him to do first on fixing this? Pressures? Thanks! Dana

Check pressures, Is the steerin weak to? If it is I would look at the flow divider on the hyd pump. One way to check it is to put in gear and have it slipping then turn wheels all the way to one side or the other and see if it takes off if it does its the flow divider. Is the pto working ok or slipping to?

There is no flow-divider on the pump. Remove the panel below the dashboard and access the Power Director valve. On the bottom of it is a hex plug that takes a 7/8" wrench???...remove it and the spring and plunger and spool and don't loose the little end plug inside the spool. Something is stuck and needs to be polished/cleaned.

Don't allow it to slip for very long. This will warp the plates and result in $$$$ repair bill! Been there. Done that.

It could also be a worn oil manifold inside the PD compartment. Once the manifold wears the sealing rings will leak and it will take more oil flow to make up for the leakage, so it will hold at higher rpms, also could be the piston seals in the clutch itself are worn. I had one once that seemed to slip, it had plastic seals on the pistons, we put the seal sealing rings in and it held great after that. It think the steel ones were used in the 180s, cannt remember for sure. Problem is ya gotta take it apart the check the oil manifold and piston seals.
