What 17" tires would be most original for a 1934 WC?  The rotted ones on the wheels I have were Good Year All-Weather 5.25/5.50 - 17, and looked like car tires which I think was what came as originals.  I can only find a couple tires online for this application; Coker Tire has a Firestone and an Excelsior, and Miller Tire has the same Firestone.  Tom

Tom: I have heard of Guys using motorcycle tires on those 17" rims.  Dave.

When I restored ours, a friend of ours found us some out of an auto salvage yard off of some old cars.  You may have the same luck searching that way.  They are quite similar to the originals when compared to the 1935 original we have in the shed.

I should give that a try, I suppose a set of tires that hadn't been in the sun or stuck in the dirt for years may be hard to find though.  How popular a size was that on cars in the 30's I wonder?  I still need to get the rims replaced, the hubs and spokes are good but the rims are shot.

There never was a 17" 3-rib front tractor tire, when Allis used 17" rims, they put on car tires.
