Everybody was running this week , 1.5 inches of rain today will slow things up, but was very welcome and needed. Took some pictures while filling up with fert. I added the wilkle hitch to my 3700 kinze, better to have 7000 pounds on the 3-point than the drawbar during transport. Mike

Finished at home last Sunday afternoon, test plot in town was done Wednesday. Raining now and variable amounts every day for the next week predicted. Beans will have to wait although most of the guys around here started Monday and some are nearly finished.

Finished planting corn here at home Wednesday, (all 8 rows), and got .1 of rain last night after all the Stormmageddon warnings from all local weathermen.  If the rain holds off, the renter plans to start planting corn this week in Northeast MO.

We got corn done on the 22nd(500 ac approx.) and finished our beans on the 27th(500 ac approx), so we are done other than replant. We are really dry here too, but we got 3/10 inch of rain today and there is a chance most of the week for rain, so that will help things.

About 60 acres went in this weekend in the neighborhood. Just the BTO's running so far.   I will likely start Friday.  We have had some bitter cold nights lately and my thoughts are that the ground is plenty cold yet.  Usually shoot for May 1st anyway.

We got done with corn on the 6 th of April. Planted a little over 500 of beans. Got a flood today. Might have to replant the beans. Its been a real weird spring here so far. We waited 2 weeks to start planting corn. And we waited 2 weeks to start planting beans. And it isnt May yet. People around here had beans up by Easter.

We got some real nice 80 deg weather, but now it's been cold.  Soil temp is only about 33 deg on non tilled and 38 in the tilled ground.  I'm in no big rush to stick seeds in the ground but we been getting the tillage done.  I went and planted 100 ac of corn on thursday to try out the new tractor, planter and system and get comfortable with everything.  I've got about 2000-2200 acres to plant so far this season.

Here's a pic..... though I know it's not Agco, we're pretty green here.  Dad grew up with some old Allis tractors and I like tinkering on them, we collect a few but farm with Deere stuff.  But I do have to Agco Hesston large square bailers.
