So this is my first tractor and it wasn't until last year that we had it running. I did have a professional do some work on it because I ended up getting over my head for awhile. My question is: when I engage the clutch it makes a weird sound. I don't know if this is normal or if something's wrong. It doesn't seem to affect the driving of the tractor as we've had no problems with it. I'm just curious what people think. Ive attached a video that clearly displays the noise when I lift off the pedal.

I'm not an expert on B's but I think you have somthing wrong with the trans. good luck with it, keep us updated.

Mine makes that noise when the Hydraulic/Trans fluid is low. It will make the noise in or out of gear. I fill it up and the noise goes away. I definitely have a leak, but it's cheaper for fluid than to tear down the rear end and look right now!

I'm not sure, because I haven't had that noise with any of my tractors, but here are some things you can try to narrow down what it could be:

In the first video you engage the clutch but do not move forward. So I'm assuming you do not have the tractor in gear. If that is the case, and IF the tractor has hydraulics/pto/belt pulley on the rear, and IF that is ENGAGED, than that is telling me that the noise could be in that part of the tractor and NOT the transmission. IF you DISENGAGE the pto/belt pulley/ hydraulics (a lever on the right hand side attached to underside of bench seat) does the tractor still make this noise? If not, then your problem is contained to the pto unit and not the tranny. If so, than I'm sorry to say, that to me it sounds like a tranny problem. Possibly a bad bearing? I don't really know, I haven't had to deal with that, like I said.

Let us know what you find out with what I suggested, that will narrow it down. Good luck!
